Operated since 2000 by husband and wife, Tom and Anita Dunderman, Basketeria specializes in seasonal, organic and locally grown Amish produce. Their produce is so fresh that it’s often picked from the vine in nearby Amish Country less than 24 hours before it’s purchased by one of their many customers.
They have forged relationships with seven local farmers, five of which are certified organic. They meet with their farmers in the winter and discuss needs, new items and help fill their fields with the right products. Some of their seasonal summer produce includes tasty homegrown and heirloom tomatoes, pickles and a variety of peppers. Other products include organic herbs, such as basil, rosemary, thyme, mint sage, oregano, tarragon, chives, parsley, cilantro and dill, organic lacinato kale and organic fingerling potatoes. With unmatched service, The Basketeria is what you expect fresh to be.
Sign up for their email specials as each week they send an email informing you about local and organic products that are available at their stand. They let you know when the peak season is for canning on each item so you do not pay too much by buying too early or too late. They also have hidden pre-order specials that you get by pre-ordering your produce. Usually 4 to 8 of these specials are listed in their email at way below stand price. Sign up at their website and start saving.
